When you’re applying for a job, you send the resume to the employer attaching a cover letter to it – the cover letter is equivalent to the letter of intend.
A good letter of intend, (also known as Resume Cover Letter) should includes the following essentials:
Paragraph 1: The job title you are applying for and where you’ve found the information about the said job opening, like: Internet job search engine, networking, newspaper ad, in-depth research, job board, mutual colleagues, a recruiter etc.
Paragraph 2: State your interest in the job and the reasons for your application – you see a perfect match between the requirements and your skills set.
Paragraph 3: Refer the employer to read your attached resume. you may provide examples of your competencies that directly relates to the job title. (i.e. Job requirements 1 2 3 – Your qualifications 1 2 3 and so on).
Paragraph 4: Thank the employer for the opportunity. Provide contact details for reaching you.
